Report # 236. The USA has guided Kiev’s UAV attack on the Kremlin

May 6, 2023

1. Moscow:  Washington is responsible for UAV attack on the Kremlin

Ukraine’s actions are coordinated and approved by the US, Putin’s spokesman has claimed. All of Kiev’s decisions are ultimately dictated by Washington, including which targets to hit and by what means, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed. His comments came after two Ukrainian drones unsuccessfully attempted to strike the Kremlin in the early hours on May 3. “Such decisions – the definition of goals, the definition of means, and so on – all this is dictated to Kiev from Washington, and we are well aware of this,” Peskov told reporters. He asserted that it is important that the USA  “clearly understands” that Russia is aware of its involvement in Ukraine and “how dangerous such direct involvement is.”

Putin’s office reported on May 3 that two Ukrainian UAVs had been disabled by air defenses while trying to strike the president’s Kremlin residence in Moscow in the early hours of the morning. Putin was not in the Kremlin at the time of the incident and no one was hurt, the statement added.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has denied his country’s involvement in the attack, while US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that Washington could not “in any way validate” Russia’s claims. US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby responded to Peskov’s comments by insisting that Washington was in no way involved in the incident. “We don’t do that and we had nothing to do with it,” he told the U.S. mass media. The spokesman for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov dismissed attempts by US and Ukrainian officials to “disown” the attack as “laughable.”

Russia's top MP calls for use of weapons “capable of destroying Kiev regime”. The Kremlin has vowed that Moscow will retaliate to the raid “anywhere and anytime it deems necessary,” while senior Russian lawmaker Vyacheslav Volodin has called for the use of “weapons capable of stopping and destroying the Kiev terrorist regime.”

There are strong voices in Russia to totally destroy the warfighting machine in Ukraine that started an-all-out aggression against Russia, and force the Ukrainian regime to unconditionally surrender – the sooner, the better.

2. Russian MFA condemned Kiev’s UAV attack on the Kremlin

The Russian Foreign Ministry firmly condemned the attempted terrorist attacks against the Moscow Kremlin on the night of May 3, when it was targeted by unmanned aerial vehicles or UAV.

There is no doubt that the Kiev regime is behind these attacks. It has a long-standing record of intentionally supporting and employing terrorist methods against civilian infrastructure and civilians, including the October 8, 2022, explosion on the Crimean Bridge, strikes against non-military targets in the Bryansk, Belgorod and Rostov regions, as well as many acts of sabotage. Now comes Moscow. The terrorist activity and acts of sabotage by the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been gathering unprecedented momentum.

Crimes like this cannot go unanswered. The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case into actions designed to intimidate and terrorise people, inflict damage and kill people as a means of influencing the decision-making process by government agencies. We are certain that those who bear the blame for these acts will be identified. They will face imminent and inevitable punishment.

The Kiev regime’s criminal actions confirm yet again that Kiev does not want peace or to settle the conflict by political and diplomatic means. This makes fulfilling all the objectives and goals of Russia’s special military operation even more obvious. There must be no security threats emanating from the territory of Ukraine and no terrorist attacks must be perpetrated from there.

It has been an open secret for the international community that the Kiev regime enjoys the support of Western countries, which provide it with weapons, intelligence data, train its fighters and assign targets. The silence on behalf of the collective West demonstrates its connivance with the terrorist methods employed by the neo-Nazi extremist regime in Kiev.

The Foreign Ministry believed that the international community and international organizations which are free from double standards and seek guidance from international law must condemn this new criminal undertaking by the Kiev regime. Kiev must be forced to live up to its commitments as regards fighting terrorism, international humanitarian law and human rights.

The Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that Russia reserves the right to take countermeasures in response to these outrageous acts of terrorism. Russia’s response will hinge on the assessment of the threats posed by Kiev to the leadership of our country.

3. China reacts to Ukrainian drones raid in Moscow

China has called for de-escalation after a drone strike targeted the Kremlin early on May 3, and urged avoiding steps that could cause more escalation.

“China’s position on the Ukraine crisis is consistent and clear. All sides need to avoid taking actions that might further escalate the situation,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on May 4 at a regular press briefing in response to a reporter’s question about the UAV attack. She added that Beijing would “continue to work with the international community to play a constructive role for the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis.”

China unveiled a 12-point roadmap to end the crisis in February 2023, and has stressed that the Russia-Ukraine conflict can only be resolved through negotiations. Russia has repeatedly said that it is open to resuming negotiations with Ukraine but only if Kiev takes into account Moscow’s “legitimate interests and concerns.”

Zelensky, meanwhile, said again last week that there “cannot be any negotiations with President Putin at this moment.”

It is highly likely that he intentionally paid official visits to Finland and after that in the The Netherlands to escape immediate Moscow attack on his official residence in the Ukrainian capital.

4. Patrushev: West’s attempts to revive neo-Nazi ideology will have global implications

West’s experiments to revive the neo-Nazi ideology must be curtailed, because they lead to a global catastrophe, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said in an interview to the Izvestia newspaper, published on May 5.

"The Anglo-Saxons have been actively reviving the neo-Nazi ideology in order to fulfill their modern geopolitical tasks. Such experiments to not lead to dominance, they lead to a global catastrophe and must therefore be curtailed in a tough and uncompromising manner," Patrushev said. In his words, numerous facts prove that many members of Western political elites shared the Nazi ideology and provided financial and organizational support to Adolf Hitler.

"Today, they need to keep their ‘democratic’ face," he said. "Nazi ideology remains an absolute evil, no matter how you disguise it."

5. “Wagner” PMC chief: Russian forces control over 95% of Artyomovsk

Russian forces control about 95% of Artyomovsk (Bakhmut in Ukrainian) and the remaining 5% have no influence on the progress of the Special Military Operation, Wagner Private Military Company (PMC) founder Yevgeny Prigozhin said. "The remaining 5% do not play any role for the so-called development of progress and the march of the ‘Red Army’ further to the West. Two square kilometers do not influence the progress of the military operation at all," he added.

6. The IAEA head again silenced down the information who was shelling ZNPP

The situation around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is becoming less predictable and potentially dangerous, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi said recently. "I’m extremely concerned about the very real nuclear safety and security risks facing the plant," he added.

"This major nuclear facility must be protected. I will continue to press for a commitment by all sides to achieve this vital objective, and the IAEA will continue to do everything it can to help ensure nuclear safety and security at the plant," he announced

Thus, he manipulated with the information that an unidentified “somebody” has shelled the station. Though it was done by Ukrainian Armed Force due to shells’ fragments found and the direction of Ukrainian rockets, Grossi’s silence has cast suspicion that it has been allegedly done by the Russian troops that have taken ZNPP last spring and control it up to now.

All public statements and written reports made so far by Rafael Grossi are covering up every Kiev’s military action vs ZNPP despite obvious facts and potential risks
