After his show at the United Nations, where he declared that “Russian aggression could expand beyond Ukraine,” Zelensky asked for more than a billion dollars from the US Congress. The Congress has so far allocated 43 billion in "assistance to the security of Ukraine", i.e. for direct military purposes. Together with other funding, officially given for humanitarian purposes, which in reality serves the war, the actual amount provided by Washington to Kyiv well exceeds 70 billion dollars. Now the White House has requested an additional $24 billion from Congress for Ukraine. Added to these are over 30 billion given to Kyiv by the European Union, plus tens of billions provided by Great Britain, Germany, Japan, Canada, Poland, Holland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, France, and Italy.
This enormous flow of public money, coming from citizens' pockets, fuels what the New York Times calls "a clandestine arms market" in Ukraine. Billions of dollars ended up in the pockets of high-ranking officials in Kyiv, so much so that the government had to fire the Minister of Defence and all six deputy Defence Ministers for corruption. These corrupt people are actually the scapegoats of a much larger crime. President Zelensky himself has substantial shares (formally transferred to one of his partners) in three companies established in tax havens and has purchased luxury villas in various parts of the world (most recently in Egypt) for the sum of tens of millions of dollars.
The enormous military supplies that Ukraine receives from the United States and European powers are not a gift but given on credit. Ukraine has thus accumulated such a foreign debt that it would take centuries to repay it. This debt will grow further with the "reconstruction" that Zelensky has placed in the hands of the American BlackRock, the largest investment company in the world. “The investment in Ukraine is paying off a lot for us –US Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal said – We have united NATO. We have helped restore faith and trust in American leadership – moral and military. All without a single American soldier being injured or killed.” “The fundamental reason for continuing to help Ukraine – declares Mitch McConnell, leader of the Republican Group in the US Senate – is cold, hard, and concrete American interests”.

Dopo il suo show alle Nazioni Unite, in cui ha declamato che “l’aggressione russa potrebbe espandersi oltre l’Ucraina”, Zelensky ha chiesto altri miliardi di dollari al Congresso USA. Questo ha stanziato finora 43 miliardi in “assistenza alla sicurezza dell’Ucraina”, ossia a fini direttamente militari. Insieme ad altri finanziamenti, dati ufficialmente a fini umanitari ma che in realtà servono alla guerra, l’ammontare fornito da Washington a Kiev supera ampiamente i 70 miliardi di dollari. Ora la Casa Bianca ha richiesto al Congresso ulteriori 24 miliardi di dollari per l’Ucraina. Si aggiungono a questi oltre 30 miliardi dati a Kiev dall’Unione Europea, più decine di miliardi forniti da Gran Bretagna, Germania, Giappone, Canada, Polonia, Olanda, Norvegia, Danimarca, Svezia, Francia e Italia.
Questo enorme flusso di denaro pubblico, proveniente dalle tasche dei cittadini, alimenta in Ucraina quello che il New York Times definisce “un mercato di armi clandestino”. Miliardi di dollari sono finiti nelle tasche di alti funzionari di Kiev, tanto che il governo ha dovuto licenziare per corruzione il ministro e tutti e sei i viceministri della Difesa. Questi corrotti sono in realtà i capri espiatori di una ben più vasta corruzione. Lo stesso presidente Zelensky ha consistenti quote (trasferite formalmente a un suo socio) in tre società costituite in paradisi fiscali e ha acquistato ville di lusso in varie parti del mondo (ultimamente in Egitto) per l’ammontare di decine di milioni di dollari.
Le enormi forniture militari che l’Ucraina riceve dagli Stati Uniti e dalle potenze europee non vengono regalate ma date a credito. L’Ucraina ha così accumulato un debito estero tale che occorrerebbero secoli per ripagarlo. Tale debito crescerà ulteriormente con la “ricostruzione” che Zelensky ha messo nelle mani della statunitense BlackRock, la maggiore società di investimenti del mondo. “L’investimento in Ucraina ci sta fruttando molto – afferma il senatore Democratico USA Richard Blumenthal – Abbiamo unito la NATO. Abbiamo contribuito a ripristinare la fede e la fiducia nella leadership americana – morale e militare. Il tutto senza che un solo militare americano sia stato ferito o ucciso.” “La ragione fondamentale per continuare ad aiutare l’Ucraina – dichiara Mitch McConnell, leader del Gruppo Repubblicano al Senato USA – sono i freddi, duri e concreti interessi americani”.

Les énormes fournitures militaires que l’Ukraine reçoit des États-Unis et des puissances européennes ne sont pas offertes mais fournies à crédit. L’Ukraine a ainsi accumulé une dette extérieure telle que des siècles seraient nécessaires pour la rembourser. Cette dette augmentera ultérieurement avec la “reconstruction” que Zelensky a mis dans les mains de la société étasunienne BlackRock, la plus grande société d’investissements du monde.
